A car fell into Augusta Canal; no word on injuries (Augusta, GA)

On Sunday, authorities reported that a car crashed and plunged into the Augusta Canal on the bridges.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle accident took place on Interstate 20 Eastbound. The early reports indicated that the vehicle left the inside lane of I-20 Eastbound and then crashed.

According to the officials, traffic was not affected due to the accident. Superior Construction put barrels at the crash site. At this time, it is unknown if anyone suffered injuries as a result of the crash. The vehicle was safely removed from the Augusta Canal. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
