2 people lost their lives following a two-vehicle accident early Sunday morning on Rialto Avenue and Macy Street.
As per the initial information, the fatal broadside collision took place on Rialto Avenue and Macy Street at about 2:00 a.m. The preliminary reports showed that a westbound 1997 Mercedes-Benz was going at a high rate of speed when it lost control, went over the double yellow line, and broadsided an eastbound 2006 Honda Civic.
The Mercedes got separated into two halves due to the impact of the crash. The driver of the Mercedes was ejected during the collision. The drivers of both cars were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities believe that speed and alcohol were involved in the accident. No other details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
