On Sunday afternoon, a 38-year old man received injuries after a bicycle crash on White Spar Road.
As per the initial information, Prescott Police actively responded to the area of White Spar Road and Highway-89 at Haisley Road on reports of a crash involving a vehicle and a bicycle. The preliminary investigation showed that the cyclist, a 38-year old Scottsdale man, was heading northbound on Highway-89 when a vehicle, driven by an 87-year old Prescott woman, made a turn in front of the bicycle which caused the rider to crash into the passenger side of the car.
The man was ejected from his bike due to the impact and he came to rest in the middle of the roadway with significant life-threatening injuries. On arrival, emergency responders rushed the man to a local hospital for treatment. The reports further revealed that the driver failed to yield and mentioned that she did not see him as she was turning. Authorities confirmed a citation to the driver for failure to yield while making a left turn.
The crash remains under investigation.
