The Renton Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Saturday morning in West Renton. The accident happened at the intersection of SW Sunset Boulevard and SW Oakesdale Avenue at around 8:55 a.m.

A 37-year-old man was driving too fast and wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, according to investigators. He was declared dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been made public yet. 

It is unsure what caused the fatal crash and if drugs or alcohol were involved is it to be found. SW Sunset Boulevard is closed in both directions, according to the RPD. Both eastbound and westbound lanes of traffic are shut down at S 135th St. and S 80th St.
