On Tuesday, a 37-year-old Lacey man suffered injuries after crashing his motorcycle on Interstate 5 near Lacey.
According to the authorities, the motorcyclist swerved off the roadway at about 5 p.m. as he traveled near Marvin Road. He reportedly hit the left shoulder cable barrier and came to a stop in the median.
Officials stated that they received multiple 911 calls before the accident, about this specific motorcyclist riding his motorcycle in an erratic manner. On arrival, emergency crews took the man to Tacoma General Hospital.
The rider was wearing a helmet, but still suffered a concussion, as well as several broken ribs and a broken foot. No other vehicles were involved in the collision, officials mentioned. The authorities partially shut down the roadway for two hours and 28 minutes.
Police believe that drugs or alcohol might have played a factor in the crash. Officers arrested the man for driving under the influence. The man’s motorcycle, a black 2000 Honda, was damaged and had to be dragged from the scene.
