A 30-Year-Old Woman Died In A Motor Vehicle Crash In Roy (Roy, WA)

The Washington State Patrol reported a  motor vehicle crash in Roy. The accident happened at 295th Street South, about a half-mile south of Roy at around 6:14 a.m.

A 30-year-old Yelm woman was passing other vehicles as she drove north on the two-lane highway. As she turned back into the northbound lanes her car slid into the oncoming lane and was hit by a van. The van struck the car’s passenger side and caused it to veer off the road.

One person was in each car. 

The driver of the northbound car was declared dead at the scene. The van’s 79-year-old Spanaway driver was taken to a hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries. The identities of the victims have not been disclosed. 

The troopers stated that they did not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the fatal collision. The accident is still being investigated.
