On Wednesday, a 24-year-old man, of Westland, Michigan, lost his life following a single-car crash in Groveland.
The preliminary reports showed that the man was reportedly driving a 2001 Nissan Altima while heading west on Highway 120 at a high rate of speed when the incident occurred at around 3:10 p.m. The reports further revealed that he allowed his car to travel to the right onto the north shoulder of the highway and plowed into a tree before he could get back onto the roadway.
The man was the only occupant of the vehicle and succumbed to his injuries at the crash scene. It was confirmed that he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. It is unclear at this time if alcohol and/or drugs contributed to the crash.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
