According to the Gilroy Police Department, a hit-and-run accident occurred in Gilroy on Tuesday evening.
The crash happened near 1st Street and Wren Avenue at around 5:35 p.m.
The officials stated that the old man was riding a mobility scooter and was found unconscious in the roadway.
The 92-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect was identified as a 16-year-old boy through witness statements and the city’s Flock Safety camera system.
The boy was arrested and charged with hit-and-run resulting in death or injury and vehicular manslaughter.
No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
