A 90-year-old man lost his life following a head-on collision Monday in Ramona.
As per the initial information, the fatal three-vehicle accident took place at around 4:15 p.m. on State Route 67 and Mussey Grade Road. The man was heading westbound on Mussey Grade Road in a Toyota Prius when he stopped at the stop sign at the intersection with state Route 67. He entered the intersection to turn left, at which point he traveled into the path of a 49-year-old woman in a Volkswagen Jetta going northbound on SR-67, resulting in a head-on crash.
Due to the impact, the Toyota rolled back into a 43-year-old El Cajon man traveling southbound in a Hyundai Elantra. The driver of the Toyota was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The other two drivers remained unharmed, and both cooperated with the investigators. All three people involved were buckled up at the time of the wreck. Alcohol is believed to be a factor. No other details are available.
An investigation is continuing.
