On Thursday, nine people suffered injuries following a traffic collision in Los Angeles.
As per the initial information, the single-vehicle accident took place a little before 12:30 p.m. near an administrative building at Los Angeles International Airport. The early reports showed that the shuttle bus was going from the taxi and ride-hailing services parking lot on its way back to the main terminal when it slammed into a pole.
Officials confirmed that two people sustained potentially life-threatening injuries. Seven other people were transported to the hospital with minimal injuries. There were a total of 23 passengers and the driver on the bus at the time of the collision. The majority of passengers did not receive injuries as a result of the collision.
No pedestrians received any injuries in the accident. According to the responders, firefighters wheeled at least one injured victim on a gurney to an ambulance. It is unclear who owns and operates the shuttle bus. No other information has been provided.
The incident remains under review.
