The New Mexico State Police responded to a fatal crash on State Road 88 near Portales that claimed a life.
The victim was identified as Minnie M Corbin,89, from Portales.
The preliminary investigation reports that Corbin was driving into the westbound lanes when she struck the rear-end of a Roosevelt County Electric Cooperative freight-liner bucket truck.
The cause of the crash is unknown.
According to the Portales Fire Department, Corbins was declared dead at the scene.
The other victim, a Roosevelt County Electric Cooperative employee, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
