The Police Department reported a hit and run crash in Watts.
The crash happened near the vicinity of Central Avenue and 109th Street at around 11 p.m. on Thursday.
While attempting to cross the street, Marie Alexander was struck by a dark-colored Chevrolet car. The vehicle did not halt.
The woman was discovered on the ground after the market’s owners heard a loud crash outside.
The victim, identified as Marie Alexander, 89, was declared dead at the scene
It is unsure what caused the crash and if drugs or alcohol was a factor involved in it.
The crash is being investigated by the officials.
