On Tuesday, authorities confirmed that 84-year-old Tilda Wilson, a Peach County woman, died of her injuries following a two-vehicle accident that happened on Sunday near I-475 in Macon.
The fatal car crash took place at around 2 p.m. on Eisenhower Parkway in west Macon. According to the investigation reports, Tilda Wilson, of Byron, was taking a left turn across Eisenhower’s westbound lanes to travel onto the freeway’s northbound on-ramp. At the same time, a 35-year-old Fort Valley man was traveling west in a Ford Mustang on Eisenhower.
Just then, the woman’s Chevy Cobalt was hit by the Mustang at the I-475 interchange, close to Middle Georgia State University. The man incurred only minor injuries as a result of the collision. The woman was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries at that time. As of Tuesday, no charges had been filed.
