84-year-old Glenn Schrotenboer dead after a single-vehicle accident in Holland (Holland, MI)

On Friday morning, 84-year-old Glenn Schrotenboer lost his life following a single-vehicle accident on US-31.

Officers actively responded to the area of US-31 and Lincoln Avenue at about 8:15 a.m. after getting reports of a car crash. On arrival, responders found a Dodge Caravan that had crashed into a building at Holland Self Storage. The driver, identified as Glenn Schrotenboer, of Holland, was found unconscious.

He was then rushed to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Officials believe that the van had been in the southbound lanes of US-31, and just before going through the intersection at Lincoln Avenue, the vehicle went off the road, went through a grassy area and a fence before smashing into the building. No other details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
