An 83-year-old Las Vegas woman lost her life and one person was left in critical condition following a head-on collision Wednesday night in Spring Valley.
As per the initial information, the fatal car accident took place on West Russell Road and South Jones Boulevard at around 9:50 p.m. The preliminary reports showed that a 75-year-old Las Vegas woman was driving west on Russell Road in eastbound travel lanes in a 2014 Honda CRV without its headlights illuminated.
At some point of time, her car collided head-on with an eastbound 2011 Acura MDX on Russell. On arrival first responders rushed an 83-year-old female passenger in the Acura to University Medical Center where she later died of her injuries. The Honda driver was also rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
The 48-year-old female Acura driver from Las Vegas had minor injuries. Officilas closed down Russell Road in both directions between Jones Boulevard and El Camino Road while crews worked at the scene. No other details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
