On Tuesday, an 83-year-old woman lost her life following a traffic collision in Henderson while officers arrested 53-year-old Oscar Perez on suspicion of driving under the influence.
As per the initial information, the fatal multi-vehicle accident took place at the intersection of Sun City Anthem Drive and Volunteer Boulevard. The preliminary investigation showed that a Ford pickup truck, driven by 53-year-old Oscar Perez, approached the intersection and collided with two vehicles stopped for a red light. The 83-year-old woman was a passenger in Perez’s vehicle.
On arrival, emergency crews rushed the woman to Sunrise Hospital where he later succumbed to her injuries on April 20. Impairment was found to be a factor and Perez was charged with one count of DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm, one count driving with a revoked driver’s license, and one count failure to decrease speed. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are made available.
