83-year-old Lorraine Donham died and 90-year-old Fred Donham, Jr. injured in a crash (Nashville, TN)

83-year-old Lorraine Donham died and 90-year-old Fred Donham, Jr. was injured following a traffic collision Friday morning on Old Hickory Boulevard.

Officers quickly responded to the area of Old Hickory at Frist Boulevard after getting reports of a car crash. The preliminary investigation revealed that Fred Donham, Jr. was driving a Subaru Outback when he tried to turn left at a light and crashed into a Toyota Tundra. According to the officials, Tundra had the green light at the time of the collision. Donham did not remember what happened, police mentioned.

He and his wife, Lorraine Donham, were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries. Officers reported that her husband was the driver at fault. All occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. Impairment is not suspected to be involved in the crash. Police confirmed a citation to the driver of the Tundra for driving on a suspended license.

The incident remains under investigation.
