On Friday afternoon, an 82-year-old man lost his life following a multi-vehicle accident in San Diego’s Allied Gardens neighborhood.
As per the initial information, the fatal three-vehicle wreck took place a little after 4 p.m. in the 7400 block of Mission Gorge Road. The early reports showed that a BMW and a Tesla were heading eastbound when the 82-year-old man, who was driving westbound in a Toyota SUV, made a left turn into a driveway. At that point of time, his car was hit by the BMW, causing his vehicle to roll.
On arrival, emergency crews rushed the 82-year-old man to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The 34-year-old man driving the BMW incurred only minor injuries. Mission Gorge Road was expected to be shut down from Princess View Drive to Mission Vista Drive for multiple hours. No additional information has been provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
