DPS is investigating a two-vehicle crash that claimed a life. The crash happened at the intersection of US 79 and CR 370, 4.5 miles north of Palestine in Anderson County.
An initial investigation into the crash reveals a 2013 Chevrolet Impala travelling north on US 79 struck a 1996 Geo Prizm on the left side.
DPS said the Prizm was stooped at a red sign and entered US 79 from CR 370.
The victim who died following the crash was identified as 81-year-old Paulino Herrera Vincente of Palestine.
Herrera Vincente was taken to the Herrington Funeral Home in Palestine.
The Impala driver was transported to Palestine Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
