Authorities identified 81-year-old Leonard Rarick, from San Diego, as the man who lost his life following a traffic collision Friday in Castaic.
The fatal solo-vehicle accident took place at around 9:30 a.m. at the Templin Highway off-ramp from the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway. Authorities actively responded to the crash scene at 9:42 a.m. Friday. The victim, identified as Leonard Rarick, was declared dead at the scene.
Another person was immediately taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries. The preliminary reports showed that a gray Honda was involved in the crash. The events that have led up to the accident remain unknown at this time. No other details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
