8-year-old bicyclist dies in hospital after being struck by truck (Las Vegas, NV)

Las Vegas police looked into a crash that claimed life of an 8-year-old bicyclist on Friday evening.

According to police, officers actively responded to a crash at about 6:40 p.m. at an apartment complex near Boulder Highway and Twain that involved a truck and a bicyclist. A truck took a left turn in the apartment complex and hit the child’s bike, throwing the child to the ground in the process, police mentioned.

On arrival, medics rushed the child to Sunrise Hospital, but later died at hospital. The driver of the truck stayed on scene and impairment or speed did not seem play a part in the crash. The Clark Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the child after notifying the next of kin.
