77-year-old man dead after a two-vehicle accident near Saranac (Saranac, MI)

A 77-year-old man lost his life following a two-vehicle accident Monday morning east of Saranac.

As per the initial information, the fatal car crash took place at about 11:45 a.m. on Jordan Lake Road at David Highway in Berlin Township. The early reports showed that a 77-year-old driving a Chevrolet Equinox was not able to stop at the intersection and got struck by a semi-truck.

On arrival, first responders rushed the 77-year-old to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not been disclosed, but authorities said he was from Ionia County. The driver of the semi remained unharmed in the accident. No other details are available.

The incident remains under investigation.
