On Tuesday, a two-car collision injured 76-year-old Mona Burbach and 49-year-old Melinda Garcia on State Route 124.
The preliminary reports revealed that 76-year-old Mona Burbach, of Burbank, was driving a 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser northbound on Lake Road, one mile east of Burbank, when she tried to cross State Route 124. Reports further said that she failed to yield the right of way and was hit by an eastbound 2019 Ford Escape on the highway, driven by 35-year-old Lisa Sauceda, of Moses Lake.
Burbach sustained injuries as a result of the collision and was taken to Lourdes Health hospital in Pasco, as was 49-year-old Melinda Garcia, of Kennewick, who was a passenger in Sauceda’s vehicle. Both cars were wrecked following the accident. Drugs or alcohol does not seem to be contributing factors in the crash. Burbach faces a charge for allegedly failing to yield the right of way.
The incident remains under active review.
