On Tuesday, 76-year-old Jim Maguire, a resident of Santa Margarita, lost his life following a traffic collision on Pozo Road.
As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle accident took place at around 5:45 p.m. on Pozo Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that Jim Maguire’s was driving a pickup truck when it collided with a turning semi-trailer truck near his Santa Margarita farm.
Jim Maguire, a longtime San Luis Obispo County public defender, died of his injuries as a result of the accident. It is unknown if anyone in the other vehicle suffered injuries. No other details were released by the officials.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
