On Monday, 76-year-old Emilio Rodriguez, a Victorville man, lost his life after being hit by a vehicle on Rodeo Drive.
As per the initial information, the fatal pedestrian crash took place at around 5:08 p.m.at the intersection with Lariat Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that Rodriguez was outside of a crosswalk when he crossed Rodeo Drive and got hit by a northbound vehicle.
On arrival, medics airlifted Rodriguez to Loma Linda Hospital with critical injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, Rodriguez was declared dead at 7:03 p.m. The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the crash scene and cooperated with the officers.
An investigation is ongoing.
