Officials from Liberty County state that a motor vehicle accident occurred on Sunday, resulting in the demise of a 73-year-old Raywood woman named Phyllis Koontz Hill. A preliminary investigation into the incident reveals that her vehicle was struck while she was attempting to turn off of US 90 onto FM 190. Hill was swiftly flown to Kingwood Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The car that struck Hill was a 2017 Dodge Ram that was travelling east on US 90. Robert Darnell Price, 58 was identified as the driver of the Ram pickup. He displayed signs of intoxication and has since been charged with Intoxicated Manslaughter and Driving While Intoxicated as a result of the accident.
