72-Year-Old Myretta Gowdy Killed And 2 Others Injured In A Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash In Amarillo (Amarillo, TX)

According to the Amarillo Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Wednesday morning. Officials confirmed that one person died and two persons were injured due to the multi-vehicle accident.

Authorities stated that the collision occurred in the 11000 Block of eastbound I-40. A Chevrolet SUV was going westbound, on an eastbound lane whereas a GMC truck was going eastbound.

The SUV and the truck collided head-on. The GMC truck then struck a Freightliner semi.

The driver of the SUV was identified as 72-year-old Myretta Gowdy. Gowdy was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The driver of the GMC and semi were transported to the hospital sustaining injuries.

Other details pertaining to the accident remain unknown. The crash continues to be investigated by the APD.
