72-year-old David Cisneros died after a hit-and-run accident in Escondido; tips sought (Escondido, CA)

Authorities identified 72-year-old David Cisneros who died following a hit-and-run accident on Saturday in Escondido.

Authorities on Monday sought public’s help in identifying the suspected driver involved in a weekend hit-and-run crash. The preliminary reports showed that the driver’s white Mercedes-Benz sedan hit David Cisneros, of Escondido, while the victim was crossing the 2300 block of East Valley Parkway on his mobility scooter at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, according to police and the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

On arrival, medics rushed Cisneros to Palomar Medical Center, where he was declared deceased on early Sunday morning. On the other hand, the driver fled the scene after the collision. No other details are available.

The incident remains under active review.
