Authorities identified 71-year-old William Lemmond, of Knoxville, as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in Roane County.

The investigation reports showed that 71-year-old William Lemmond was traveling south on Decatur Highway when he attempted to turn left onto Squaw Valley Road. Just then, his Ford Focus came into the way of the larger commercial vehicle driven by 63-year-old Earl Jenkins of Evensville, Tennessee.

The reports further revealed that the commercial vehicle hit the car on the passenger side and sent it about 100 feet off the road before it came to a stop. Both drivers were reportedly wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision. No charges will be filed. Jenkins remained unharmed in the wreck.
