71-Year-Old Wayne Wakefield Died In A Motor Vehicle Crash In Tucson (Tucson, AZ)

The Pima County Sheriff’s Deputies reported a motor vehicle crash reported on Tuesday at midnight. The accident happened at West Orange Grove Road and North La Cholla Boulevard at around 1:24 a.m. The collision involved two vehicles.

In the intersection, a Toyota driven by Wayne Wakefield, a 71-year-old man and a Jeep driven by Brian Clarke, 29 ran into each other.  

Wakefield was transported to Banner Hospital with what were deemed to be non-life-threatening wounds. His condition worsened at the hospital, and at 3:47 in the morning, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Clarke displayed signs of impairment when they arrived on the scene. Manslaughter, criminal mischief, and driving while intoxicated are the charges against Clarke, who was arrested and taken to the Pima County Jail for the fatal crash.
