71-Year-Old Maria Trinidad Esquivel Killed In A Multi-Vehicle Accident In Fresno (Fresno, CA)

The California Highway Patrol reported a multi-vehicle accident that killed a 71-year-old woman, identified as Maria Trinidad Esquivel, in Fresno on Monday.

At around 9:15 p.m., the driver of a Chevrolet Express Van, who was believed to be intoxicated, collided with a Ford Explorer on Highway 99, South of Second Street. Later the van again rammed into an SUV travelling Northeast and a concrete barrier. 

Maria, who was a passenger in the Ford, was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The three passengers of the SUV were transported to the hospital. Later the driver of the van was arrested for DUI.

The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. There are no other details available at this time.
