Authorities identified 70-year-old Lucio Parada-Becerra, from Las Vegas, as the man who lost his life following a traffic collision that also left another person in critical condition on Mother’s Day in Apple Valley.
The fatal single-vehicle crash took place on Sunday, May 8, 2022, moments before 7:00 am, along the southbound I-15 freeway, near the Wild Wash Road off-ramp. According to the investigation reports, the driver of a white Toyota Tundra failed to maintain control of the vehicle as a result of which the truck rolled over several times. The vehicle ended up in the desert along the Northside of the freeway.
Due to the impact, a passenger in the truck, identified as Lucio Parada-Becerra, was ejected from the vehicle. Lucio Parada-Becerra suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. Emergency crews requested a helicopter to airlift a person, who was in critical condition, to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. No further details were provided.
