The Police department reported a motor vehicle crash in Hall County on Wednesday.
Georgia State Patrol reported that the accident happened at Tanners Mill Road at around 2:30 a.m.
Gainesville resident Jose Luis Estala, 67, was operating the Dodge Caravan as it traveled south on a right-hand curve on Tanners Mill Road.
Estala allegedly veered off the road’s shoulder and into an embankment while driving too quickly on the wet road, according to the state patrol.
Silvia Franco Mireles, 69, a passenger in the back seat of a Dodge Caravan, died in the collision.
Charges are still pending while the Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team investigates the fatal crash.
