According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a multi-vehicle accident occurred in Liberty County on Tuesday. The crash happened on FM 787 just west of CR 2184 in Tarkington at around 6 p.m.
According to the investigators, a Dodge Ram, a 2022 Subaru Outback, a 2021 GMC Acadia, and a 2010 Toyota Tundra. The driver of the Dodge Ram veered into oncoming traffic and struck a 2022 Subaru Outback. The officials stated that later it struck both the GMC Acadia and a Toyota Tundra.
A 69-year-old Debra Sue Cherry was identified as the driver of the Subaru Outlook who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Police.
