69-year-old Brentwood woman killed after a head-on crash in Nashville (Nashville, TN)

On Wednesday, a 69-year-old Brentwood woman lost her life following a two-vehicle accident in Nashville.

As per the initial information, the fatal car crash took place at about 10:30 a.m. on Whites Creek Pike near Sycamore Creek Road. The early reports indicated that the woman was driving a Nissan Sentra north on Whites Creek Pike when she went into the oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a southbound Jeep Cherokee. The woman was not buckled up at the time of the collision.

She suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The driver of the Jeep, 21-year-old Lauren Hudgens, was wearing her seatbelt at that time. She remained unharmed in the accident. It is unclear why the woman went into the oncoming traffic. There was no proof of drug or alcohol involvement on part of either driver at the scene. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation is underway.
