68-year-old Suzanne Russel died after a head-on collision in Knoxville (Knoxville, TN)

Authorities identified 68-year-old Suzanne Russel as the victim who died following a head-on collision Wednesday afternoon in Knoxville.

As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area of South Northshore Drive near Concord Park at 3:10 p.m. after getting reports of a two-vehicle crash. The early reports showed that the first vehicle was heading south on the road when the driver went over center line and collided with the second vehicle.

The driver of the second vehicle, Suzanne Russel reportedly died due to the crash. Russel was rushed to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment before dying, but the other driver declined treatment or transport, according to officials.

The crash remains under investigation.
