67-year-old William Merinko dead after a two-vehicle crash on North Sunrise Way (Palm Springs, CA)

On Tuesday, 67-year-old William (Bill) Merinko, a resident of Palm Springs, lost his life following a two-vehicle collision on North Sunrise Way.

Officers actively responded to the area of East Tacheva Drive intersection at about 10:20 p.m. after getting reports of a traffic accident. The preliminary investigation showed that Williams was ejected from his vehicle after crashing into another vehicle.

On arrival, medics transported him to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the other vehicle received minor injuries and was also taken to a hospital. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be involved in the accident.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
