On Wednesday afternoon, a 66-year-old woman, from Roseville, was hospitalized following a rollover crash on a busy Metro Detroit freeway ramp in St. Clair Shores.
As per the initial information, the single-vehicle accident took place at about 3:30 p.m. The preliminary reports revealed that a vehicle, driven by 66-year-old Roseville woman, was exiting westbound I-94 to 11 Mile Road when it ran a stop sign.
After running the stop sign, the vehicle drifted around traffic on 11 Mile, before it flipped down the embankment and ended up on the ramp from eastbound I-94 to westbound I-696. The vehicle struck several large trees along the embankment, causing them to fall into the right lane of the ramp.
The woman’s vehicle was also blocking the ramp, shutting it down for approximately an hour. The woman was transported to a hospital with minimal injuries. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
