On Sunday morning, a two-vehicle collision claimed life of 66-year-old Edwin O’Neal Wilbert on Victory Drive in Marshall.
As per the press release, the fatal car crash happened in the 5100 block of Victory Drive at around 11:49 a.m. Preliminary investigation revealed that 66-year-old Edwin O’Neal Wilbert, a resident of Marshall, was travelling west in the inside lane of Victory driver in 200 Buick Century. In the meantime, 24-year-old Katrail Ray Flanagan, of Marshall, was going west on Victory Drive in a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe.
The Santa Fe rear-ended the Century, causing both vehicles to rotate out of control, the press release stated. Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace Clarice Watkins declared Wilbert deceased at the scene of the crash. Flanagan was transported to CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center in unknown condition. No further details are provided by the authorities.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
