65-Year-Old Michael David Cooper Died In A Motor Vehicle Crash In Tucson (Tucson, AZ)

The Tucson Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Friday. The accident happened on East Grant Road at around 9 p.m.

According to a news release from Tucson police, Michael David Cooper, 65 was riding east on East Grant Road when he abruptly swerved into oncoming traffic and was hit by an eastbound Hyundai Elantra.

Cooper was transported to the hospital with critical injuries despite having lights on his bicycle. However, he was not wearing a helmet at the time. According to the release, police were notified of his death on Sunday.

The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials. The Hyundai’s 19-year-old driver stopped right away after the collision near North Los Altos Avenue and cooperated with the authorities. There have been no citations issued.
