63-year-old Sergio Valencia-Manzo dead after an auto-pedestrian collision in Copperas Cove (Copperas Cove, TX)

Authorities identified 63-year-old Sergio Valencia-Manzo as the man who lost his life after being hit by a vehicle on July 21 in Copperas Cove.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place a little before 12 p.m. in the 2700 block of East Business Highway 190. The early reports showed that the driver of a 2016 Jeep Liberty was heading east on East Business Highway 190 when it hit Valencia-Manzo who was walking north across East Business Highway 190.

The pedestrian sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center by Copperas Cove EMS. The man later died of his injuries and was declared dead by Bell County Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke. At this time, it is unknown if the driver of the Jeep will be charged. No further details were provided.

The incident remains under investigation.
