62-year-old Scott Whitmore and 58-year-old Melanie Whitmore dead after a two-vehicle crash in Nashville (Nashville, TN)

On Sunday, 62-year-old Scott Whitmore and 58-year-old Melanie Whitmore, both from Topeka, lost their lives following a two-vehicle collision in South Nashville.

As per the initial information, the fatal car crash took place on I-24 West, close to Haywood Lane at about 9:30 a.m. that claimed the lives of a Kansas couple. The preliminary reports indicated that Scott failed to maintain control of his Honda Civic, struck the guardrail and went back into the roadway. The car was then reportedly hit by a Ford F-250.

The occupants of the Honda, identified as Scott Whitmore and Melanie Whitmore, succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The driver of the truck remained uninjured. The couple was not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. Drugs or alcohol do not seem to be involved in the crash.

An investigation into the crash is continuing.
