62-year-old Scott J Brodie succumbs to his injuries after a crash with moose in Spokane (Spokane, WA)

Authorities confirmed that 62-year-old Scott J Brodie, from Ritzville, succumbed to injuries he suffered when his car crashed into a moose Wednesday in Spokane.

The fatal single-vehicle accident took place on Interstate 90 west of Spokane. According to the investigation reports, Scott J Brodie was traveling westbound when the moose walked onto the interstate from the north. His car hit the moose in the left lane and stopped on the left shoulder.

On arrival, medics rushed Brodie to the hospital for treatment, but he died of his injuries on Saturday. A 60-year-old woman who was also in the car incurred only minor injuries in the accident. No other details are made available.

An investigation is ongoing.
