Authorities identified 62-year-old Raul Zepeda-Lozano as the man who lost his life following a traffic collision Tuesday evening in Nashville.
The fatal bicycle crash took place on Antioch Pike. According to the investigation reports, Raul Zepeda-Lozano was traveling towards oncoming traffic on a bicycle when he failed to maintain control and crashed into the side of a stopped box truck.
The box truck did not stay at the scene. It is unknown if the driver of the truck was aware that the vehicle was hit. On arrival, medical personnel rushed Zepeda-Lozano to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical condition. He succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday morning. No further details were provided.
An investigation continues.
