61-year-old woman dead after an auto-pedestrian collision in Midway District (San Diego, CA)

On Sunday, a 61-year-old woman lost her life after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a road in the Midway District.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place near Rosecrans and Hancock streets at about 10 p.m. The preliminary investigation indicated that the 61-year-old woman was crossing the road when she got hit by an unidentified vehicle driven by a 53-year-old man.

The pedestrian suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. Reports further added that officers questioned witnesses and the driver, who stayed at the scene after the collision. No other details are immediately available.

The incident remains under investigation.
