61-year-old man seriously injured after a suspected drunk driver struck a bicycle in San Diego (San Diego, CA)

A 61-year-old man received serious injuries after a suspected drunk driver hit a bicycle Sunday in the Adams North area of San Diego.

As per the initial information, the bicycle accident took place at 4:43 p.m. in the 3400 block of North Mountain View Drive. The early reports showed that a man was driving a black Honda Civic west on Mountain View Drive when his car struck a curb, veered off the road and then collided with the cyclist.

On arrival, first responders rushed the bicyclist with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The 28-year-old Honda Driver was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence. The identity of the injured victim has not been released at this time. No other details are available.

The accident remains under investigation.
