60-year-old male pedestrian injured after getting hit by an SUV in Sherman Heights (San Diego, CA)

A 60-year-old male pedestrian received serious injuries after getting struck by an SUV in the Sherman Heights neighborhood.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian crash took place at about 5:15 p.m. Saturday in the 2000 block of Market Street. The preliminary reports showed that a 21-year-old woman was driving a Kia Sportage in the westbound No. 1 lane when she hit the pedestrian, who was crossing Market Street in the intersection with 20th Street.

On arrival, paramedics rushed the man to a hospital with a fractured pelvis and femur. The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. The identity of the injured pedestrian remains undisclosed at this time. No other details are available.

The crash remains under review.
