60-year-old Ernest Keister killed after a bicycle crash in west Phoenix (Phoenix, AZ)

Officials identified 60-year-old Ernest Keister as the man who lost his life after a two-vehicle accident on Tuesday night in west Phoenix.

As per the initial information, the fatal bicycle crash took place on 51st Avenue, south of Camelback Road at about 7:45 p.m. The early reports showed that a Sedan traveling south on 51st Avenue struck a bicycle for reasons that are yet to be known. On arrival, emergency crews rushed the bicyclist, identified as Ernest Keister, to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the involved vehicle stayed at the scene. Officials stated that there was no proof that impairment played a factor in the accident. The events that have led up to the crash remain unclear at this time. No other information has been provided.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
