59-year-old woman died after getting hit by a vehicle in Waco (Waco, TX)

A 59-year-old woman lost her life after getting struck by a car Wednesday in Waco.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place at about 4:53 p.m. near North 17th Street and Columbus Avenue. The driver of the vehicle reportedly stopped to render aid to the victim. The woman was rushed to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

No charges have been filed at this time. The events that have led up to the accident remain unknown. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No further details are available.

The incident remains under investigation.
