Officials identified 59-year-old Souheil Medyati as the man who lost his life after being struck by a vehicle Monday on Boulder Highway.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place at around 10:30 p.m. near South Broadbent Boulevard. The preliminary reports showed that a northbound black Dodge Charger hit Medyati who was walking near South Broadbent Boulevard.
On arrival, first responders rushed Medyati to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he died of his injuries. Speeding and impairment were not believed to be involved in the crash. No other details are available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
